June 29th--Hartford, Connecticut

We departed for Connecticut mid-morning. The weather was perfect...not too hot or humid. The weathermen on TV kept calling it "pleasant," a word not often used to describe a nice day in the bay. We drove to Hartford, the capital of Connecticut. First stop was lunch at a brewery called City Steam Brewery. It was housed in a beautiful old building. After lunch we toured the Old State Capital Building, which reminded us of Benicia's Old State Capital Building (but on a bigger scale). Next we walked through part of Hartford and then drove to Mark Twain's house. We intended to go on the tour but the timing didn't work out. Our little boy was ready to sleep. That evening we had dinner at a nice little Italian restaurant with friends of Joan and Patrick's from Prague.
