Alexis is 2 weeks old today...it has gone fast! Her jaundice is almost cleared up, but no longer an issue. Feeding wise, she's doing better. She nurses for part of, if not all of, her feedings. We still have to give her breast milk in a bottle if she doesn't nurse for very long, as she still has to get her weight back to her birth weight. We go into the doc tomorrow for another weight check. Hopefully she'll be close to the birth weight and we can ease off of the forced feedings. The only plus to the whole jaundice experience is that it forced her to be able to use the bottle and breast from early on...that will be helpful when Daddy and I want to have a date night!
She's becoming more alert...she still sleeps almost all the time, but has had a few hour long periods of wakefulness over the past few days. Overall, she's a baby, so nothing new to report yet...just eating, sleeping, and pooping! :-)
