Visiting Africa

Lexi's preschool held their annual imaginary field trip this morning.  This year the school was transformed into Africa.  The Happy Hearts teachers always outdo themselves and really create a wonderful learning opportunity for the children.  This is my third imaginary trip (Nicholas went to Hawaii the first year and to the Wild West his second year) and is just one of things I love about our kids' preschool.
Each kid packed a suitcase to take to the "airport" for their trip.  Lexi packed a hat (because it's sunny in Africa), a swimsuit (in case she needs to swim in the ocean), and Barbie (because Barbie HAD to see Africa)

Lexi and Collin checked out the African bathroom first

The hallway is usually lined with cubbies...but today it was filled with trees, waterfalls, and African animals

The circle room became the African desert

The block area became the rainforest, complete with a gorilla home

It was safari wear for the dress up area

Very creative animals...the jaguar was made with fuzzy fabric, pasted on cut out cardboard

Homemade gorilla too

The art room had tribal areas

Lexi said they made animal masks in here

The snack room was transformed into a hut where the kids ate on the floor.  Lexi said they ate bananas, cornbread, and "lots and lots of crackers".
