So we went in around 8:00 this morning and were home by 9:30. The surgery itself was super quick...maybe 5-10 minutes long altogether. The worst part was having her taken away from us screaming. We weren't allowed to be back in the room for the anesthesia, so she was a bit freaked out being taken away by a stranger. When we were brought back to post-op, Lexi looked like a drunken rag doll and was crying. She calmed down within a few minutes though and enjoyed a pink otter pop...her first food in 12 hours.
They said she might be extra tired and cranky today, from the anesthesia. But, as I type she is being her normal tornado self in our living room...playing with stickers, puzzles, and generally enjoying herself and making a mess. Seems she's no worse for the wear.
Here's to an ear infection free fall/winter!
In her gown with the blood pressure cuff and pulse-ox monitor. She had no idea what was going to happen but was pretty content with all of the "princess gear", as we called it to distract her.
