In true fashion for our family, Jeff's birthday was a 3 day celebration. Jeff and I started out with a date night on Saturday, complete with a movie and dinner! On Sunday, we decided to do the actual family celebration. Jeff's birthday was Monday, but with work, it wouldn't have been much of a celebration for him on his actual day. We started out the day with donuts....
Lexi "eats" her donuts by swiping all the frosting off with her finger...she rarely ever eats the actual donut. A healthy breakfast indeed!
Nicholas looks like he's going to stab his donut...but at least he eats it!
After breakfast we headed out to Muir Woods, just north of SF. Surprisingly, I'd never been there before. We took an nice hour stroll through the redwoods, complete with a very windy bus ride from the shuttle stop.
Jeff was showing Nicholas a banana slug in the window...check out Nicholas' reaction

So did Lexi
After a stop in Mill Valley for beer and lunch, we headed home so I could make Jeff his birthday dinner. Dad helped out with the main course, lamb chops. Jeff also requested roasted fingerling potatoes and artichokes.

Cheers to Jeff!
Yummy artichokes all around
Lexi and Nicholas picked out this ice cream cake. It was Reese's peanut butter cup ice cream with chocolate cake.
Lexi helped Nana get the cake ready for the birthday song

Jeff opened up the birthday presents from the family. Nicholas was his package opener.

On Jeff's real birthday I cooked him a homemade Indian meal and we gave him our present.
Lexi and Nicholas LOVE singing cards...this one sang "Conga" and lit up
We gave Daddy a new sweater for work, as well as some pants
