Lexi at 2 months

Time flies....Lexi is already 2 months old! Hard to believe that she's been here that long.

She had her 2 month check up today. She's now weighing in at 12 lbs. 14 oz. (9oth percentile) and is 23.25 inches long (75th percentile). Our doctor was pleased by her neck strength and her alertness. She received 2 shots this time...she didn't like it, as expected, but didn't cry particularly long or hard.

Lexi has definitely gotten the hang of nursing (as her weight indicates!), but she still spits up quite a bit. Oh well, it gives us an excuse to have her wear all of her clothes! She's a really good sleeper so far. We usually get her down between 8-9 in the evening and she'll sleep anywhere between 2-4 in the morning. 5-8 hours at night at this age is fabulous! She still sleeps a bunch during the day and is getting used to being put to sleep in her crib without already being asleep. Even though she's too young to "sleep train" yet, I thought it wouldn't hurt to put her down drowsy at regular naptimes...she seems to be doing very well with the concept. Perhaps we won't have to deal with weeks and weeks of crying it out (like Nicholas, who took a good two months to sleep train!).

Perhaps the best development has been her smiles. She grins very widely at me, especially if I've been out of sight and then reappear. I got a few pictures of her smiling yesterday, as well as a short video clip of her active state. Enjoy!

Look at that chubby face! You just want to squeeze those cheeks!

It's exhausting being a baby!

A small grin

She looks so lanky and long in this picture
