Thanksgiving started out for us on Wednesday. We drove to Canyon Country (north LA) to visit Jeff's sister's family. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, on an already busy travel day. It took us 8 hours to take a normally 5 hour drive. Nicholas slept for about 4 of the 8 hours though, so it wasn't so bad. Thanksgiving was very relaxing. The kids had a fun time playing outside in the yard before the meal. Mark and Jennifer did a great job. The food was delicious! On Friday, we took the kids to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Nicholas was a little hesitant on some of the rides, which was unusual for him. His cousins very much enjoyed all the rides though. The highlight was Thomas the Train. Both boys got to take souvenir train whistles home. Saturday was spent in the La Canada/Montrose area. We played at a local park and then had lunch at Zeke's. Jeff got to load up on goodies at his favorite butcher shop, Shriner's, as well. Jennifer was even nice enough to go see Twilight for the second time, so that I didn't have to drag Jeff to the theaters!
:-) We drove home early Sunday and made it home in 6 hours. We had a great time and it was a lot of fun to see Nicholas interact with his cousins. I'm sure they'll have a lot of fun when the Daems/Johnson family comes to visit around Christmas time.
