Halloween is Coming

I say Halloween is coming become it seems like the weeks leading up to Halloween are often filled with activities and opportunities for the kids to wear their costumes. On Saturday we went to the Benicia Moms Group Harvest party. This was the first time in 2 years that I was not involved in planning a BMG party and it was nice to experience it from a participant's point of view. The board members did a great job of creating a Halloween experience in a small meeting room. The kids watched a super fun performance from The Bubble Lady, decorated canvas treat bags, ate some spooky snacks, and played outside on a playground. And, they got to wear their costumes for the first time!

Nicholas and his best buddy, Mason, were front and center for the Bubble Lady.
They thought her show was hysterical, as you can see.

More looks of laughter and awe

Surprisingly, Nicholas volunteered to go up for a "space helmet". He's really starting to come out of his shell. Oh, and she was playing the theme to Star Wars during this part of the show...perfect for little Darth Vader!

Hmm...something doesn't look quite right here!

Lexi enjoyed making her treat bag with Jeff

Cute black eyed Cinderella....so, Lexi woke up Thursday morning with a nice shiner. About 10 minutes after putting her to bed Wed night she started hysterically crying. I went in her room and she was saying, "Owey!" I have no idea what she did...maybe bumped her head on her headboard? Anyway, she woke up Thursday morning with this HUGE black eye. Oy vey!

On Sunday we headed up to Petaluma with about 7 of our friends for the annual pumpkin patch run. We also brought Nicholas best friend Mason with us. The kids had fun going through a corn maze, playing in a corn bath, climbing a hay pyramid, and going on the inflatable bounce houses. Everything was great until Nicholas was stung by a bee right after lunch. Of course, he was understandably upset and in pain. He was not interested in looking for pumpkins after that, so Lexi, Mason, and I did a quick run through the pumpkin vines to get a few gourds before we packed up and headed home.

My kids love a good cut out

Nicholas, Nikos, and Mason...the older boys LOVE Nikos (who just turned 2).
Nikos is going to grow up to be a tough boy! ;-)
