After the awesome World Series win for our beloved Giants, the city of SF (in case you've been in hiding for the past week...or perhaps don't live in the Bay) threw the Giants an all out victory parade. I figured my dad would go to the parade, but was a bit surprised that he wanted Nicholas to go. As my dad put it, it took the Giants 56 years to win the World Series again, so he didn't want Nicholas to have to wait until he was 59 years old to witness this moment. How could I argue with that? Besides, the whole experience of the Giants winning the World Series was so monumental for my dad, that I figured we should share it with him.
My mom said she would stay with Lexi, so I headed into SF with the boys. It was an absolute zoo getting there. BART was so crowded that we literally could not fit another body in the car. We were standing the entire way, cramped and sticky as it was. Luckily the weather in SF was so beautifully clear and mild, so we weren't bundled up in heavy coats. Had we known how many people were actually going to flood SF, we would have left B-town earlier. As it was, we saw nothing of the parade except for other people's head, but the energy in the city was pretty awesome. After the parade, we met up with my uncle and headed to Chinatown for some lunch.
It was definitely an experience to be sure. Hopefully Nicholas will remember it, just in case he doesn't see it again until he is 59!
