Time for a Tooth Cleanin'

Nicholas went for his second dentist appointment on Wednesday. It's amazing how much better he did this time...a half year really makes a difference! No x-rays this time, but he seemed much more willing to cooperate with the dental hygienist and the dentist. No cavities and still tons of space between his teeth, which is a good sign. Nicholas left with a smile on his face and a balloon in his hand!

Lexi also had her teeth checked out. The dentist said that all 4 of her canine teeth are on their way in, which accounts for all of the drooling and crankiness lately. She also said that Lexi's frenulum (the piece of cartilage between her upper two teeth) is pretty thick. If it gets too thick then it will impede the growth of Lexi's permanent teeth. So they are going to watch it as she gets older and they may need to snip the frenulum if it gets much thicker. We'll see. All in all, it was a pleasant experience!
