Every July 3rd Benicia holds its annual Torchlight Parade. Almost the whole town turns out to celebrate Independence Day and watch the floats go by. My dad and I showed up on the First Street park lawn at 6:45 Friday morning, in order to lay blankets down so we would have a prime spot...that's commitment folks! It was well worth it. Nicholas had an absolute blast! He loved all the excitement of the evening...eating on a blanket, playing with his buddy Aislyn, and watching the firetrucks, horses, clowns, etc. go by. It was so cute to watch him take it all in. In fact, when we drove by the park today, he screamed with excitement, "The parade!" Little does he know he has 364 more days until he'll see it again! ;-)
