Nicholas started off the new season of Little League two weekends ago. My what a difference a year makes! If you remember, last year he had a very difficult time with tee ball. He was very apprehensive and did not enjoy himself.
This year is a whole new ball game (no pun intended). He has really taken to being part of a team and working on improving his skills. His throw is better, he is catching more balls, hitting the balls further, and paying attention to the plays. It really shows me that maturity has a lot to do with being successful in certain activities.
Last weekend we had the Opening Day ceremonies. The boys assembled at our Community Park for a parade and the introduction of the teams.

Yesterday Nicholas had his first game. He was a bit nervous to start but ended up doing a great job. He played pitcher for two innings, a position he never played last year. In tee ball, the pitcher sees a lot of action, since a lot of the kids hit the ball straight in front of them. Nicholas did a great job of fielding the balls and throwing to first base. He did very well at his three at bats too. The most important thing, in my opinion, is he had confidence in himself and worked as a part of the team.
