Sick baby and Father's Day

Nicholas had another busy weekend. On Saturday he finally got to meet his great-grandpa Drummond (my mom's dad--Papa). We took Papa to BJ's in Vacaville for lunch, which was a big step for me. He's finally old enough to go to a restaurant without launching into a full scale screaming attack. We also tried him in a restaurant high chair, but he needs to be able to sit up unsupported a little better.

Sunday was Jeff's first Father's Day. We started out the morning by going to get him breakfast (pancakes, bacon, and eggs) as well as some Starbucks. We thought that Daddy should get to sleep in! :-) Then we went up to Roseville to celebrate with the rest of my family. It was Nicholas' first time in the pool. He seemed to enjoy it, although we didn't want to keep him in too long for fear of getting a sunburn. Again, he did pretty well without any regular naps. Daddy liked his presents from Nicholas--a board book called Daddy Cuddles and a Banana Republic polo shirt.

Throughout all the busyness Nicholas also contracted a viral infection, which gave him a fever and diarrhea. He didn't seem too uncomfortable though. Just some VERY messy diapers. He still isn't completely over it, but he's on the mend.
