Lake Tahoe

On Saturday Nicholas headed up to Lake Tahoe with Grandpa Rod, Nana, Auntie Becca and myself. We stayed at a cute townhouse in Incline Village, Nevada (North Shore). Nicholas did a good job driving up to Tahoe (about 3 hours). Once we were there though, the altitude seemed to bother him, as he was a little "stopped up." He spent most of the day twitching and straining, which made sleeping difficult.

Sunday was spent at the beach. Unfortunatley, the weather was very windy and a bit chilly. Nicholas had to stay in long pants the whole time. :-( We did see the fire starting to build at South Shore as we lounged beachside. Sunday was a better day for Nicholas, although sleeping in his pack and play proved difficult yet again. Poor Auntie Becca...she shared the room with us and had to listen to little baby grunts all night long.

Monday was a lazy day. With the ashy air from the fire, we didn't want to spend too much time outdoors. We had lunch at the River Ranch Patio, a restaurant in Truckee where the river rafters disembark. We were going to go rafting, but it was too cold. We then took a stroll through Tahoe City afterwards. Nicholas was pretty enjoyable that day and had finally seemed to adjust to the high altitude. He slept MUCH better that night, which I think was more important to me than it was to him! :-)

Before we left on Tuesday morning we went mini-golfing at the King's Beach Golf Course (which had orginal structures from its opening in 1957). Nicholas was very patient as we golfed and fell asleep in his stroller at the 18th hole! Side note...I got 3 holes in one and scored one above par (excellent!).

All in all, we had a good time together. Traveling with a baby isn't easy, but he did a great job.
Coming soon....our trip to NYC!
