He took an interest in the diving board, which I thought there was no way he would actually attempt. Boy did Nicholas prove me wrong! He walked right up to the edge of the board, looked down, and...bombs away! He probably went 10-15 times that day, getting braver and braver with each jump. The hard part was for Jeff and myself. Trying to tread 10 foot deep water while holding up Nicholas was no easy feat. Needless to say, our fearless water lover really needs to develop his swimming skills...and fast! While I'm glad he has a love affair with the water it would be nice to know he won't drown!
That being said, after taking level 1 swim classes twice this summer, Nicholas has moved onto level 2 classes as of Monday. He is now moving beyond back/front floats and face submersion, to things like breathing to the side and the freestyle crawl. Enjoy the video below of one of his jumps!
