Soccer has been an interesting experience this time around. Class started at the end of March, and the last class will be next Monday. I thought Nicholas would really enjoy getting outside and being able to run around, but he definitely did not warm up to the idea at first. The first few classes were a bunch of tears and crying. Nicholas was very frustrated by not being able to control the ball and did not want to leave my side. As you can imagine, shadowing Nicholas while holding a squirmy Lexi wasn't the easiest of tasks. As the weeks went on though, he started progressing. He can now dribble the ball down the field and has learned not to use his hands. He still gets frustrated when the ball doesn't go exactly where he wants, but he's learning not to cry about it. He still doesn't understand that the purpose is for another team to try to get it away from his team, so he gets mad when another kid tries to get his ball....he'll learn though. I'm not sure if we'll continue with soccer in the fall or not. I'll leave it up to Nicholas and see what he thinks. Our next sports adventure...swimming lessons!
