One of my best memories as a child was going fruit picking with my family in the summer. We thought Nicholas was old enough to enjoy this outing, so we packed up the
fam and headed to
Brentwood (about 45 minutes southeast of
Benicia). We first stopped at a cherry orchard and Nicholas loved nothing more than pulling the cherries off the trees and tossing them into the giant bucket. He was a little disappointed that he wasn't allowed to climb on the ladders though. Next we went to a peach orchard and picked some yummy white peaches. Mommy made johnnycake cobblers and a peach/cherry pie out of our yield. Both were yummy!

Nicholas kept trying to eat the cherries, but kept ripping them apart to get the pit out first. Hence, messy cherry juice fingers (and messy clothing too!)

Missy kept putting bark in the bucket. She couldn't reach any cherries so she did the next best thing.
