Alexis at 1 month

Alexis is now 1 month old. I took her to her doctor's appointment today and she's now 10 lbs. 2 oz. and 21.5 inches (that's 75th percentile and 50th percentile, respectively). To give you some perspective, Nicholas was 21.5 inches at birth and over 12 lbs. at a month old...so, Lexi is looking like she won't be quite as big as her brother, but who really knows at this point. She received her 2nd Hep B vaccination today, which she wasn't thrilled about. Our doctor thinks Lexi will start sleeping through the night on the earlier end of things, which is awesome. Let's see if this prediction holds out in reality!

On the home front, Lexi is still a pretty sleepy little girl. She tends to stay awake for an hour or two first thing in the morning and then pretty much dozes the rest of the day away. Her most alert time is late afternoon through bedtime...she'll stay awake for a good 4-5 hours. So far she's had 2 nights where she went 6 hours between feedings (which our doctor said is not typical at this age). However, last night she was up every 3.5 hours again, which isn't too bad either.

Nicholas still loves his baby sister and wants nothing more than to touch her. He is becoming more helpful with Mommy and Daddy in regards to Lexi. He's always willing to grab a diaper or put a blanket on his sister. He still doesn't seem jealous of Lexi, which I'm very pleased to see.

Mommy and Daddy are adjusting well too! It's amazing how much different Lexi is than Nicholas. So far we haven't seen any signs of colic, which Nicholas suffered with for the first 3.5 months of his life. It definitely makes things much easier to not have to sit through 3+ hours of crying at night. And because Lexi sleeps for pretty long stretches already, we don't feel like quite the zombies we did with Nicholas. All in all, Lexi is a lovable little bundle and we're really enjoying having her in our lives.
